Valentine's Day Teatime
If you've been reading this blog, you probably know that every Friday my best mommy friends and I get together with our 3 years olds, Connor, Reese, Samantha, and Gwendolyn and babies for Mommy Happy Hour. We have been doing this since our 3 year olds were just a few months old. The kids are so close and love these playdates, and the mommies need this time together to chat, share, laugh, cry, and support each other in this wonderful wild ride of being stay-at-home moms. Last week was my turn to host and we made it a Valentine themed playdate with teatime snacks. This menu is definitely not just for kids, it would be just as nice for an adults only tea. It's very simple to throw together and everything can be served room temp.
Tea Party Menu
Scones (I used orange cranberry and didn't have time to make homemade)
lemon curd, jam, and clotted cream (didn't have any) for the scones
Egg salad tea sandwiches
Cucumber and cream cheese tea sandwiches
Mini heart shaped pizzas (obviously not part of a traditional tea)
Chocolate and Vanilla shortbread, and any other small cakes or cookies
Bowl of strawberries or other fruit
Tea (I'll be honest, we didn't have tea. The mummies opted for a Raspberry Smash cocktail instead)
